Blessing the Foundation of a New HomeThis Blessing the Foundation of a New Home text is from Byzantine Melkite Euchologion published by the Eparchy of Newton (Our Lady of the Annunciation (Al Bisharah) in Roslindale, MA), Roslindale, Massachusetts, United States. This book is available from Sophia Press, Eparchy of Newton (Our Lady of the Annunciation (Al Bisharah) in Roslindale, Massachusetts, United States). Priest: Let us pray to the Lord. Response: Lord, have mercy. Priest: O Almighty God, who made the heavens in wisdom and established the earth on firm foundations, the Creator and Author of mankind: look down upon this your servant (handmaid) (Name), dependent upon You, who starts to build a house for his (her) dwelling under the dominion of your power. Establish this house on a firm rock and found it according to your divine word in the Gospel, so that neither wind nor flood, nor any other evil force may prevail against it. Graciously grant that he (she) may bring it to completion. Deliver those who dwell therein from every attack of the enemy. For yours is the dominion, and yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spkit, now and always and for ever and ever. Amen.
