In the Holy Mystery of Repentance, Holy God the Son within the Holy Trinity / Our Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ forgives our sins. Repenance is the Holy Mystery which gives us access to Holy God's forgiveness, to spiritual healing, and to reconciliation. We ask forgiveness of Holy God the Son within the Holy Trinity / Our Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Priest gives us a special blessing called absolution as a sign of our reconciliation with Holy God. Holy God the Son within the Holy Trinity / Our Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ wants us to ask for forgiveness after we have sinned. ProcedureA person confesses to Holy God the Son within the Holy Trinity / Our Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ through the medium of the Catholic Church. Usually, the person faces the ikon of Holy God the Son within the Holy Trinity / Our Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ and talks to Him. This action is to remind us by whose power our sins are forgiven. However,Repenance may bein any secluded part of the church. The priest, as the earthly representative of Holy God the Son within the Holy Trinity / Our Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ, stands at the right of the person and transmits Holy God's forgiveness via absolution. At the time of absolution the priest places the two ends of his stole, the sign of Holy God the Son within the Holy Trinity / Our Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ 's priesthood, on the penitent's head and recites the prayer of absolution.
