Subject: First Visit of Patriarch to Pope

GOOD NEWS to all our Melkite clergy and faithful.

His Beatitude, our new Melkite Patriarch Gregory III is planning to pay a visit to His Holiness Pope John Paul II on February 12 (Monday). His Beatitude has expressed the desire to have Melkite clergy and people accompany him in this first visit to the Holy See of Rome after his election as Patriarch of Antioch and All the East on November 29, 2000.

The highlights of the visit will include:
- A Patriarchal concelebrated Divine Liturgy at Santa Maria in Cosmedin, the Patriarchal Church in Rome, on Sunday, February 11.
- An Audience with the Holy Father Pope John Paul II on Monday, February 12.
- Other activities as will be scheduled for the occasion.
