Great Compline / Salaat Ya Rabbal Quwwaat / Ya Rabb Al-Quwwat is a prayer that especially marks the time of Great Lent.

Great Compline / Salaat Ya Rabbal Quwwaat / Ya Rabb Al-Quwwat is celebrated before bed on:

• Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays of Great Lent
• Eve and the day of Great Feast of the Annunciation (Al Bisharah) of The Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary.

Troparia of Repentance at Great Compline:

O God, be the defender of my soul, for I walk in the midst of many snares. Deliver me from them, O gracious Lord, and save me, for You are the Lover of All People.

Prayers before and after Troparia of Repentance at Great Compline:

Enlighten my eyes, O Christ God, lest I sleep to death; lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed over him!"

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

O God, be the Defender of my soul, for I walk in the midst of many snares. Deliver me from them, O gracious Lord, and save me, for You are the Lover of All People.

Now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Since our many transgressions come between us and the favor of God, be our intercessor with Him who was born of you, O Virgin Mother of God, for the prayers of mothers have much weight in obtaining the Master's favor. O most vener-able one, do not despise the pleadings of us sinners, for He who willed to suffer for us is merciful, and He has the power to save us.

Melkite Greek Catholic Church Information Center is dedicated to my cousins: Bucky (Richard C. Liles) and Shirley (Shirley Jean Liles Buck). Bucky fell asleep in the Lord on Dec. 12, 2000 and Shirley fell asleep in the Lord on Nov. 8, 2001.
O God of all spirits and of all flesh, who have destroyed death, overcome the devil, and given life to the world: grant, O Lord, to the souls of your servants Bucky and Shirley, who has departed from this life, that it may rest in a place of light, in a place of happiness, in a place of peace, where there is no pain, no grief, no sighing. And since You are a gracious God and the Lover of Mankind, forgive him/her every sin he/she has committed by thought, or word, or deed, for there is not a man who lives and does not sin : You alone are without sin, your righteousness is everlasting, and your word is true. You are the Resurrection and the Life, and the repose of your departed servants Bucky and Shirley. O Christ our God, and we send up glory to You, together with your eternal Father and your all-holy, good and life-givng Spirit, now and always and for ages upon ages. Amen.
